FAQs

Here, I will post some of my most frequently asked questions.

⭐️ I do not get online, make a post or answer messages on Sundays. Thank you for your understanding. <3

What kind of clay do you use?

I use polymer clay. The brands I use are Sculpey Premo and Cosclay. Polymer clay must be baked in an oven and cures to a flexible, rubbery plastic. It has bend to it, but is still breakable. Please do not bend any of the parts.

Where do you get your eyes?

My eyes are handmade by me. It takes me approximately 2 hours to make one set of eyes. I have not made a tutorial yet, but I would like to, in the future!

How do I care for my doll?

You can find this info here.

Do you offer a payment plan?

Yes! My shop accepts payment plans through the shop app, commonly referred to as Shop Pay! Payments are split up into 4 equal, bi-weekly payments. To use this option, add your dolls to your cart and choose the shop pay option at checkout! As always, if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out!

Why is the doll I want not available?

Sometimes I will have a doll sell fast. Other times, a doll may be visiting a gallery for a while, so if you check back, the one you were interested in may show up for sale in the future! If you’re ever in doubt, just send me a message and ask! However, I do not create the same doll twice, so once she’s gone, she is gone for good. I do often revisit themes to make something similar but different! Another way to get a doll you want is through a custom order. Custom orders are only available sometimes, and I do not accept all custom order requests. Check the announcement bar at the top of my website, or DM me to double check!

(If there is a gallery event upcoming, it will always be posted in the events tab)

When will new dolls be available?

I try my best to keep up with 1-2 shop updates per month; however, I am a one woman show and I still have a life at home to maintain. (I am a wife and mother, so I am often busy, doing most of my work late at night. ) If you are looking for something in a specific collection and it is not there, you can assume it has already been sold. Remember, I’m the only one sculpting, posting and doing everything and I can only work so fast!

I always keep the most up to date information on my blog and on Instagram and Facebook. There is always a countdown timer in my story highlights on Instagram titled “Next Drop?” (If it’s not there, no new drop is scheduled) and there you will be able to click the timer to be notified when the next update is live. I try to do fairly large updates, but sometimes dolls can still sell out quickly. I always announce updates 3-5 days ahead of time on my blog and  both Instagram and Facebook.

** If you subscribe to my newsletter, you will receive news about each new release, including photos and prices! You can do so, in the big green box on the front page of the Lish Cooke Art website! Newsletter subscribers also receive blog posts, sale posts and giveaways!

Do you ship worldwide?

I do not ship worldwide, but if you do not see your country listed and are interested in making a purchase, please reach out to me at lish@lishcooke.art via email and I will see if it’s possible to add your country to the list.

Countries I currently ship to are: United States, Austria, Australia, Canada, Germany, France, United Kingdom, Ireland, Italy

** Please note: I offer to ship all packages with upgraded priority shipping. It is slightly more expensive, but the tracking is better and the packages make it to you in half the time! If you’d like extra insurance added to your package, please reach out to me! (All packages are automatically insured up to $100)

US shipping is generally $7-$12 depending on your location from Indiana

Shipping international orders is usually $20-$65+

** Large sculptures can cost as much as $70 to ship internationally!

All packages come with a tracking number and insurance! If you are international, please be aware it can take 4-8 weeks to reach you. This is out of my control! (Please note, I will combine shipping when able, but large dolls must always ship ALONE for safety.)

** I am not responsible for any customs fees, VAT, or taxes that your country may charge. I have no way of knowing any of these fees.

**Do you accept custom orders?

Occasionally I will accept a custom order. **Though I do not offer them all the time.** If I do open custom orders, I generally only make them available during regular shop updates or I will make 1-2 available each month. Custom order openings will alway be announced on my blog,  Instagram  Facebook and are first come first serve.

If you are considering a custom order, please read over the information on this page.

To request a custom order, please send me a DM or an email here.

Design Limitations:

Design flow comes first! My characters are not modern day creatures! (They are aliens!) They come from a different time and to not have things that are always the same as what we have! I do not recreate another artists work! I will create art in my own style only! <3

I will not overdo a doll with additions just for the sake of having more details! Additions will need to make sense for their doll proportions and how much they can realistically hold! If you have any questions about your concept, please message me!

Will you reserve the doll I want?

Simply put, no! I have tried doing this in the past, however I have gotten stuck with holding onto the item when it could have sold. This is unfair to me and the other customer who is interested. The most fair way I have found to combat this is to have a shop update at a specific time, with announcements. You can find everything you need about each doll and update on my blog. All art is sold on a first come first serve basis!

If I missed the doll I wanted, will you remake her for me?

My sincerest apologies for this, but I really enjoy making each sculpture one of a kind. I will often times create a new doll with the same theme; however, I thrive on the uniqueness of each artwork I put into the world. Thank you so much for understanding this!

How do you price your work?

I think of many different factors when pricing my work. Taking into consideration that it has taken me many years to develop my professional skills. I account for the time it takes me to create the sculpture (which is always spread out over hours and DAYS). Each sculpture is carefully drawn out and designed by me, with the utmost love and care, baking in the oven between 5-10 times per sculpture, to achieve the shapes and details necessary. Apart from creating the art piece, I also have to invest time into photographing it, marketing it on social media, creating video content and finally listing it online. This is all a very long process per doll and takes up much time. Finally, I will add in the materials it costed me to make the art piece. But this is still just a fraction of the process. Sometimes the price may vary by just a few dollars and sometimes more, depending on the details and amount of work put into that piece!

You can see a more in depth pricing guide here.
